Sound of Neonlight (2013)

1. Work Out

The chains fell off the lion and all paintings off the wall
Those memories are fluid, there is no control at all
I’ve gotta do some work out on my troubled racing mind
Face this lifeless desert and step out into the blind.

Come run with me, now daylight fades
Run with me under shady trees
Something lies waiting in that distant fire ball
Do you realise we can take it all
Realise we can take it all
Just realise we can take it all

Well this electric mirror ball, like cocaine in our veins
Explodes in million pieces, here’s the magic in our brains,
Steals the brakes out off our engines, takes the finger off our lips
Like a rumbling volcano, like the fire on our ships.

Come run with me, now daylight fades
Run with me under shady trees
Something lies waiting in that distant fire ball
Do you realise we can take it all
Realise we can take it all
Just realise we can take it all

In this world we couldn’t share there is no illness nor deceit
There is no paranoia in the faces that I meet
And nothing here is certain, there’s a thousand points of view
Well could you live with one opinion, live by a million rules ?

Come run with me, now daylight fades
Run with me under shady trees
Something lies waiting in that distant fire ball
Do you realise we can take it all
Realise we can take it all
Just realise we can take it all

2. Hanging Out

Am I supposed to analyse my failures and my fear?
Or can I just skip the thinking, go out and have a few beers
I’ve been hanging on to the good life, gathered some friends round here
Yes, we smoke too many cigarettes, cry too many tears

This is what we talk about, this is how it feels
This is all the best in me, this is hanging out…
Hanging out

For better and for worse we tried tenderness for real
Hearts on fire, tongues of stone, thoughts all disappeared
But how can I be good, my dear, how can I come near

This is what we talk about, this is how it feels
This is all the best in me, this is hanging out…
Hanging out

3. Fear

Brittle eyes in this cruel, cruel world of action
Brittle eyes of disbelief
Brittle eyes in this fatal world of fiction
She wants to walk on water but goes underneath

Brittle eyes in this steel and concrete jungle
The engine of her life’s now put into another gear
Hidden visions she points out with her fingers
She’s just too young to smell the danger here

A river is no river if that river’s gone dry
You’re challenging the river
But you know you’re gonna die
A river is no river if that river’s gone dry

See the tissue on the table
She lies spitting on the floor
Follow the blood spore to the needle
She couldn’t take it anymore
All her senses now gone stone dead
The last twitching on the floor
Is there life in this bloodshed
Is there life in this whore

A river is no river if that river’s gone dry
You’re challenging the river
But you know you’re gonna die
A river is no river if that river’s gone dry

4. Bonjour Tristesse

In your most peculiar way you walk the line
Till all your sorrow will be mine
On the tracks from your youth there’s only time
But inspite of all the loss you’re doing fine
Allthough you come falling from the stairs
On your back the sweet memories of affairs

From the days you wore ribbons in your hair
Smoked cigarettes to blow circles in the air
Right now you have the wisdom of a tree
Just to rock your children on your knee
You long for places that have never been seen
From where you’d never come running back to me

From the well, say what you need
Is it something that I could be

From the well, it’s clear what you need

But there is nothing there as far as I can see.

Poisoned words ring through the pines
You spit them out between the lines
Make  them hurt like hell without a sound
Make it far too hard to be around
Make me feel like an everlasting tree
That travels rootless through the space round you and me

And only God knows how I’ve tried
How all my efforts slowly died
Crawling round with my ball and chain
Never to be released again
I’m only trying just to be
I’m simply trying to be me

From the well, say what you need
Is it something that I could be

From the well, it’s clear what you need

But there is nothing there as far as I can see.

5. Wave on the Wire

A long time alone, so I drink what´s forbidden
By purity´s law, will my sins be forgiven tonight
Out of the blue I remember a face and I pick up the phone
For the same hollow phrases. With the difference that I mean it
I mean it, I mean it this time…

It´s me again, it´s me again as a wave on the wire
Fly me high

Point out a city on this wide continent,
do me favour and bring me the man
Hidden inside here, hidden for them
In your choosen city bring him back again (2x)

It´s deep in the night and I fight at the frontline
For a life in the spotlights and candy at tea time
I loose lots of load on the road that I travel
To return where I started, where I first fought the devil
With the difference that I´ve seen it, I´ve seen it this time.

It´s me again, it´s me again as a wave on the wire
Fly me high.. high

Back to the city, back in the scene
Back in the middle of the same old dream
A man runs for glory, he´s lost in the rain
In your choosen city, bring him back again

6. Mary Jane

If you ask me about Mary Jane
I guess I’ve seen her in better shape
The way she sings her favorite song, well you know

The last time we saw her must have been years ago
When her name was sung in every radio show
I forgot the name of who sang that song, cause you know

It doesn’t matter anymore
Something came breaking through her door
What a waste, Mary Jane, what a waste….

Yes, I’ve seen her on my way back home
By her shed along the dessert road
Where she sits alone on her solid stone in the sun

Well I still think of Mary Jane
As teasing like a threatening rain
And she always smiles when I dream her face, but you know

It doesn’t matter anymore
Something came breaking through her door
What a waste, Mary Jane, what a waste….

So prove me wrong, prove me wrong

7. Never Enough

There is rain pouring down on the parade
There is a face across the road
Here comes that pain called love
Well tell me straight do you have a place for this heavy load

Well, back in school as you still might know
I was always late, I ran a different race, I walked another road

And now I´m standing on top of the roof looking down, down, down
What the fuck am I trying to proof, spinning around, round and around
Well I guess it´s never enough, I guess it´s never enough
I just can´t get enough

Your lovely face is still the same It never changed in spite of all pain of a life alone
Next to man, he must drive you insane, he´s got so little brain, oh what a shame I had to roam
But I shut that door and I took that train years ago, but like never before I feel like coming home

And now I´m standing on top of the roof looking down down down
What the fuck am I trying to proof, spinning around, round and around
Well I guess it´s never enough, I guess it´s never enough
I just can´t get enough

8. Drifting

She comes to me, says I´m an expert in just nothing
As far as I can see that´s true
Sometimes she’s hungry for a challenge or just anything
She says that challenge might be you

But  I´m just drifting and I know I can´t be forgiven
But I´m so full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you
So full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you

Here comes her second shot, she knows a way to ease my mind
Well, that old trick won´t work on me
You might even have a million ways of any kind
But I need the strain to think free

Cause I´m just drifting and I know I can´t be forgiven
But I´m so full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you
So full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you

I tell her this is not my favorite way of wasting time
Me, I just wanna hide
At most I will let you feel that you are a good friend of mine
But I don´t need you all by my side

Cause I´m just drifting and I know I can´t be forgiven
But I´m so full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you
So full of boredom that I´m too tired to talk to you

9. Lurking

Weird sunsets, weird eyes, weird days in paradise
There’s really something, something waiting and it could be here any day now
The air is clear and I can hear a sound appear right in my ear
There’s really something, something waiting and it could be here any day now

I don´t know where it´s heading for and I don´t know where it´s from
Though I don´t know what it would be like, it´ll certainly turn you on.
It´s lurking, always lurking

Secret meetings, secret nights. People howling in the full moonlight
It´s really nothing, but still we´re waiting as if it could be here any day now

Everybody, everybody needs something, something to believe in.
Well, it´s lurking, always lurking, forever lurking.

You´d better not fix on the things that you don´t have (2X)
There ain´t too much any way
You´d better fix on the things that you do have (2x)
They might lift you of the ground someday

Everybody, everybody needs something, something to believe in

10. Crumble

It’s the alarmclock singing, one of them seventies’ songs
It’s time that we should clean our heads
It’s time for breakfast, honey, it’s time for sing alongs
It’s time that we should get out of bed

Cause I see it all crumble, I see it all run out
How I hate that vision,
this is where time should stop.

Well it all seems useless, honey, to run around like fools.
It feels like going back to bed.
But it’s time to hug the children, send them off to school
It’s time that we should stop looking ahead

Cause I see it all crumble, I see it all run out
How I hate that vision,
this is where time should stop.

Cause all is beautiful right now,
it’s right before darkness falls
this is where time should stop
this is where time should stop
this is where time should stop
