UGLY BLACK MONSTER

You rise like a statue, the biggest of all
A river in the sky, heavens below
But if you would die, I’d stand here with nothing
I’d stand here alone

It’s an ugly black monster, that we can’t seem to tame.
You could look into its black eyes and go down in flames.
As it curses the sun , as it curses our name.

Bringing on rain

It’s an ugly black monster, with various names
Deep frozen shivers, over body and brain
I’ll wait till it whispers. ‘truth’s just a question’
And I will die in its name

It’s an ugly black monster

Oh, sweet hunger and pain, lost in a fire
We failed him again
The ugly black monster, is gonna drag us away
From all the ones that we care for, it laughs at our names

It’s an ugly black monster

BLINDFOLDED

The world is confusing, blind as we stare
You win or you lose it, I´ve been blindfolded
It smothers me, reality
I´ve been blindfolded

Eye-blinding kindness, it elevates the soul
The face of human blindness, I´ve been blindfolded
In my hour of need, community
I´ve been blindfolded

The way we sing it in the street
Shuffling on our broken feet                   ,
Begging for what we don´t need
Black words spoken in the heat
Rosen from painstaking greed
I can´t stand to see one bleed

I´ve been blindfolded  I´ve been blindfolded

Fried, but I´m learning. Man, I was yearning
I´ve been blindfolded
All the denial, night was in me
I´ve been blindfolded, I´ve been blindfolded, I´ve been blind, but now I´m free

Now I´m free
just you and me
Eternity
just you and me
just you and me

LICKING MY WOUNDS

Belly says hunger, hunger for pride
But you know it’s never daytime
You know it’s always night

And you know young girl, I can’t be older all the time
Because you have the wisdom
And all your secrets deep inside

And if one day you might call, I won’t answer at all
I will be licking my wounds, climbing up the wall

And you know young girl, my legs don’t seem to walk
There’s a heaviness around me
Every time I stop to talk

And you never ask me nothing, as I’m rolling as a rock
Leave me stuck without a reason
Stuck within the clock

And if one day you might call and I won’t answer at all
I will be licking my wounds, climbing up the wall

Belly says hunger, hunger for pride
But you know it’s never daytime
You know it’s always night

And if one day you might call, I won’t answer at all
I will be licking my wounds, climbing up the wall

FUNKY COAT

I got a funky coat for smoking
I am the king of the neighborhood
I got a funky coat for smoking
It´s the only thing I do

I got a funky coat for smoking
I take it out into the woods
And you are with me like a sister
Digging a hole down to our roots

Hip hip hooray I´m joking   Don´t let me be misunderstood

I got a funky coat for smoking
Out on the balcony in the rain
I got a funky coat for smoking
A dead cigarette remains

Hip hip hooray I´m joking   Don´t let me be misunderstood

I got a funky coat for smoking
Anything that slows the brain
Anything that I can think of
My daily mirror (ugly picture) needs a frame

I got a funky coat for smoking
It´s the only thing I do
And when the whole damn world lies broken
The only one I need is you

We smoke outside….

HOLLOW

Existence is the bus ride to a village in the mind
With a suicidal driver who turns out to be blind
The only time to enter this village is at night
When reality lies flickering in the neon light

It helps if you feed it with alcoholic drinks
Love yourself for hours, reality it stinks
All that you will do is swallow
All the words you said though never meant

Troubled minds revive
The longer we ignore to see it bright
Troubled life, rewind …………

Existence is the bus ride to a village in the mind
The driver could be you, so tell me who is blind
So welcome to this village where low change into highs
Forget about the bus ride, God knows you arrived

Or in the end, the bitter end
You find yourself on a road that never bends
All that you can feel is hollow
Like all the words you said though never meant

Hollow minds revive
The longer we ignore to see it bright
Hollow lifes, rewind …………

GREEN FIELDS

Sometimes you feel that it is time
To get that cloud out of your mind
Search the skyline through the windshield
For a saviour of any kind

Three motorcycle boys, passing on the bridge
Outlined black on the deep red sun
Going down beyond the green fields of my country

With hungry headlights and a radio station on my way
Waiting on some magic or sensation of a sweet light rain

Three motorcycle boys, passing on the bridge
Outlined black on the deep red sun
Going down beyond the green fields of my country

You know, the story of a boy
With his new little toy
On wheels, on the ground
Oh Lord give me some gasoline
That I may ride this country
A million times around,
Starting right now

So this is true in stories that you read when you are young
And now it happens just before my eyes and in this song

Moving On…. Higher

WHO’S GONNA FALL

Inferno is creeping slowly up to our knees
Desire is up here, in the head like a breeze
Leads our ship through the wildest of all hurricanes
While death is creeping through million muddy veins

Tell me who’s gonna fall? Afraid of the midget,
Afraid of the giant, the knowledge of all
Tell me who’s gonna fall  …..

Hand out direction and we will talk common sense
Out on the wild run, let us build a fence
Lit up by candles to bring light in the darkest of nights
Burn the illusion, froozen deep down here inside

Tell me who’s gonna fall ? Day in, day out
Some day up, some day down
Tell me who’s gonna fall…..

Black icy rivers by the end of the day
A light in the distance that will never fade away
And here in our darkness, we close our eyes to see
The loneliest silence that whispers its freedom to be

Tell me who’s gonna fall? Afraid of the midget,
Afraid of the giant  Some day up, some day down,
Tell me who’s gonna fall….

KID ON THE CARPET

Kid on the carpet guiding me home
Liberating ocean too colorful to roam
Thrill of disappearing, silent wintertime
Floating on a carpet into a better life
All is in the drawings as things get in the way
The kid on the carpet he draws a new day
Draws a yellow sunrise, draws into the night
The kid on the carpet never asking why

Convinced that he can do it  for he’s never tried before
To fall into the unknown, find the treasures on the floor
All it takes is courage, the urge to find out more
A palette on your mind and all the colors you adore

The kid’s been set aside but in all the tears he cries
A lighthouse will reveal, just be open to the signs
In all sweet lullabies there’s truth and there’s a lie
Sweeter all together then tons of apple pie
The kid on the carpet as mother sings to him
Scribbles leaves and branches as he hides the words within
The outside closing in but never close enough
The kid on the carpet is always in love

FORTY ONE

Here’s to my woman,
She just turned forty-one
I’ve got the music cooking inside me
Can I be her man, oh yeah, I think I can

There was no knocking, no warning, electricity in the sky
And sometimes, honey I wonder
All this time you’ve been around
Sometimes I wonder why, it took me all this time

Black bird singing in the dead of night Honey you and I it’s all right

Many tongues around us
A whole world to rearrange
A whole world to be proud of
No worries about today, for the better it will change

I could dive into a rainbow
a million colors on my skin
I’d wear my Sunday halo
I’d swear on my life of sin to just let love in

Black bird singing in the dead of night, honey you and I it’s all right

To trains, to ships, to planes
To red hearts and pink balloons
To the dust, to the rain
To the sun and to the moon, yeah I will see you soon

VISIONS

Save this boat from sinking though our days are done
Save our souls from shrinking though all hope seems gone
The chaos is strong and the nights are long
And there’s no one in this wilderness who could do us no wrong

Call the sickness ignorance, call it as you want
Call daily life a misery, well if that’s what you want
You’ll get it for free, it is easy to see
Life is going downwards if you don’t do what you feel

Bring wisdom, bring wisdom for the chosen few
Who must lead the many on their way through

People talk salvation, well wish them they’re right
Cause even if salvation’s just a shimmering light
The dream is justified, makes it better to fight
Then to sit on our asses and choke in the night

Those who preach liberty mean nothing to me
For there’s no guarantees if the preacher’s not free
So just be good to yourself and to anyone else
Forget what they told you, speak for yourself

Bring wisdom,..

It’s hard to say anything if you see what I see
It’s hard to say anything and if it was up to me
We ignore what is said and we clean our heads
From the books that we read,  live ‘em instead

Sleep well, sleep well, sleep well
May your dreams be free from those visions from hell
